Ben Wesemann
Owner, General Contractor
I'm a St. Louis native who moved to Boone in 2005 to study Art at App State, where I practically lived in the woodshop. After graduating, I ran the App State's Smith Gallery by day and renovated my fixer upper by night, stepping into the world of building. I spent four years in the mission field in South Africa before returning home to Boone, where I established Arrow Works Custom Homes, which has been growing ever since.
My son is my best friend; we love building Legos, swimming, and biking. I play pickleball, bow hunt
(---arrow--->), I love all adventures and seeing the world. I am a member of the National & High Country Home Builders Association, and a board member of our Watauga Habitat for Humanity. I deeply value my High Country community and love building homes for others that do too!
Aaron Shuford
Project Manager
I'm Aaron Shuford and have been working with Arrow Works since 2021. I grew up in NC and moved to Boone to study at AppState where Ben and I were roommates. I worked for Samaritan's Purse, at multiple churches, house painter, and am a writer. I love enjoying the High Country life with my wife, Janelle, and our two boys.
Abe Bachman

I’m a recent Building Sciences graduate from Watauga High and App State, and I'm proud to be Arrow Works’ first Gen Z employee! I started as an intern in 2023 and can confidently say your project will be in great hands! I grew up in Boone, and I’m very fortunate to call this beautiful town home and to be able to help you build yours! I have every mountain-related hobby there is, and if you’re looking for an amateur professional pickleball partner, look no further! Bernie Paz
Carpenter
My name is Bernie Paz. I am married and have one son and three step-daughters. I'm originally from Honduras and now live in North Carolina. I've worked in carpentry and tiling for many years and I absolutely love it! When I'm not working, I love to spend time with my family or watch soccer games.
Judah Arrow
Future Forman & GM (Giggle Monster)
Judah is Ben's son and job-site joy-bringer! And the namesake of the business. He wants to be a builder like his dad when he grows up. Armed with a hammer that’s a bit too big and an endless supply of energy, he’s the team’s unofficial mascot. Whether he’s designing an addition to his treehouse or nailing together scrap lumber, this kids' passion for building is unstoppable. Keep an eye out—he’s already drawing the next big project!
Betsy Cain
Interior Designer
Betsy has lived in Boone since 2010 and founded Canvas & Light Interiors in 2012. She is a mom of four and has lived through the (dusty and messy but satisfying!) renovations of two fixer-uppers. She has a passion for interior design and an eye for seeing the potential of a space.
